The afternoon talk for your summer conference will be:
Title "Use of High Pressure High/Temperature in Chemical Synthesis" Abstract Apparatus capable of generating 1,000,000 pounds per square inch simultaneously with 2000°C will be described. How such equipment is used to synthesize diamond and other substances will be explained.
The evening presentation will be:
Title Diamonds-Natural and synthetic
Abstract A brief history of natural diamond will be given along with a discussion of man's attempts and final success in transforming graphite into diamond. The various types of diamonds and their gemnological and industrial uses will be discussed.
